Join Us For A Day of Golf and Giving Back

Mark your calendars for September 19th, 2024! The Metro Bethesda Rotary Club is thrilled to invite you to the 18th annual Purple Tee Golf Classic at the picturesque Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland. This isn’t just another golf event—it’s a powerful opportunity to come together for a day of fellowship, fun, and most importantly, fundraising to support our military veterans and their families.

When you join us on the greens, you’re not just playing a round of golf—you’re making a direct impact on the lives of those who have served our country. This year’s event will benefit four incredible non-profit organizations, each dedicated to supporting veterans and their families in meaningful ways:

  • The Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA): provides rehabilitative golf experiences and family-inclusive golf opportunities for post-9/11 wounded war veterans in an effort to improve the quality of life for these American heroes.

  • Operation Second Chance: supports Veterans and their families by building relationships and identifying and supporting immediate needs and interests. We are dedicated to promoting public awareness of the many sacrifices made by our Armed Forces.

  • Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS): provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, grief seminars for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, case work assistance, connections to community-based care, and a 24/7 resource and information helpline for all who have been affected by a military death. Services are provided free of charge. TAPS has offered support to more than 120,000 surviving family members of our fallen military since 1994.

  • Metro Bethesda Rotary Foundation: supports Metro Bethesda Rotary Club’s efforts to provide humanitarian assistance locally and internationally, to promote peace and understanding, and to attain educational and cultural advancement.

The day promises not only a round of golf at one of Maryland’s premier courses but also the chance to connect with others who share your passion for giving back. There will be plenty of opportunities for networking, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, and participating in various contests and raffles.

Your participation is vital to the success of this event. Whether you’re an avid golfer or someone who just wants to support a good cause, your involvement will make a significant difference. Gather your friends, colleagues, or family members, and form a team! Or, if you’re unable to attend, consider sponsoring a veteran or making a donation. Every contribution helps us reach our goal of supporting these extraordinary organizations.

Don’t miss out on this chance to enjoy a great day of golf while making a lasting impact. Register now and join us in honoring our veterans and their families.

We look forward to seeing you on September 19th at Whiskey Creek Golf Club!

As businesses start the budgeting process for 2025, electricity supply costs across the PJM Interconnection region are rising, driven largely by an increase in capacity charges. Capacity charges, which ensure enough power is available during peak demand, have seen a sharp uptick, leading to higher rates, especially in the DC and Maryland areas. Both residential and commercial customers are facing these increases, with supply prices potentially rising by as much as 20%, significantly impacting operational costs. However, there is still time to mitigate the coming increase in supply rates. From simple energy efficiency upgrades, such as LED lighting or smart thermostats, to longer-term projects like solar panel installations and power walls, businesses have a range of options to reduce their energy consumption and control costs. These strategies can offer significant savings over time and position companies for more sustainable energy use. We encourage you to talk with business owners and decision-makers in your network about these rising costs. This is a great time to introduce them to Electric Advisors, where we can help them navigate these changes and find ways to reduce their energy expenses. Your referrals can play a crucial role in helping those in your network become more competitive. Best,
