Because of changes in legislation in several states across the country, you are now able to choose your supplier of electricity and natural gas. More than 280,000 residences throughout the mid-Atlantic are already taking advantage of energy choice in their rates.
You also have the opportunity to buy electricity generated at area mid-Atlantic wind farms. We have green offers of 50% and 100% local wind. Choose EA to purchase these green packages without having to install solar panels or dig for geothermal wells on your property. And if you live in a townhome, condominium, co-op or apartment, the only way you can obtain green power is to purchase it from a supplier like EA.
The process in choosing lower rates is seamless, too. Your lights and gas won’t flicker — or worse yet, shut off and then turn back on. Nothing at all happens with your service. What’s more, you’ll still call your local utility for outages, if you have lines down, or if you have any billing questions.

It’s pretty simple, actually. We can impact your electricity and natural gas generation (sometimes called supply) and transmission rates. You can download a document (.pdf download) that explains what we do, when viewed on a typical electric utility bill.

Please note that the rates for which you are eligible apply only to your electric or natural-gas utility, So if you are a Pepco Maryland customer, for example, you cannot obtain Allegheny pricing; you can only get Pepco Maryland prices.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are currently or plan on participating in BGE's Budget Bill program for natural gas, you will be able to remain on the program. However, the Budget Bill plan will only pertain to BGE's distribution charges. The gas commodity charges (from our third-party supplier) will be billed monthly based on the actual amount of gas delivered. In other words, only a small part of your bill will actually be "budgeted;" a majority of it will not be.
If you are on a Budget Bill plan for natural gas and need to spread out your payments because of your personal finances, then this particular service is not for you. You can still take advantage of our electricity program with pricing for BGE, though. Click on the BGE (Elec.) tab above to see pricing.
